Ooni Detroit-Style Pizza Pan

New to the Detroit pizza game

I had no previous experience with Detroit pizza so I was interested in trying something new. The Ooni pan is solid and well-made and resulted in a "pretty good" pizza; the only reason for this is that I left the oven on high, which was a mistake. Regardless, the pizza was tasty, the pan cleaned up easily, and I'm looking forward to doing better next time.

Wish it were larger

As a bonus when I bought my Ooni Koda 2, 14" pizza oven, I got a free mini deep dish pan, and the spatula it comes with. It's also to be used as a proofing dish for making dough, and the recipe my Wife and I favor is just a little too big for it's size. Hard to get something free, and gripe about it, just wish it were larger. As far as function, to be honest we haven't used it yet for deep dish pie yet, so can't really rate it, but it works great to proof dough if your amount fits whatever size recipe you make. Well constructed it's made like a tank could roll over it, but still easily the lid comes off for easy access. The spatula actually gets more use on my flattop griddle flipping burgers, than for pizza, but soon we plan to try deep dish so that may change. Like anything else we have gotten from Ooni it's quality merchandise, buy with confidence. With their customer forward service model I can't imagine getting "stuck" with something of theirs that isn't top end, or if you didn't like it.
