I bought this tungsten carbide tool to sharpen very hard Japanese knives that don’t respond well to traditional sharpening stones . It works superbly well at this but is also excellent at daily touch up for my Wustof knives. It handles well and is a genuine bargain for what it does

Nice rod

That honing rod have a coarser surface than fine ceramic. 9 inches is ok to use and easy to store however I would like to see something like 14 inches version for really long blades
