I have had random generic shears, up to a German brand starting with W. And they were all fine. These are another level. They are light yet extremely sturdy. The hinge moves smoothly but with enough force I don't hurt my hand. The handles are soft and comfortable. And of course they're sharp. I wish I had upgraded sooner, and recommend just getting all three Shun models, including the herb and multi-purpose.
