This crossmember is definitely a necessity. I ended up removing mine from the top and placing it all the way at the bottom. It helped square up the bottom of my rack a lot better. It also feels more solid with no wobble when I use the dipping-bar attachment.

Great look

This really pops of the system! Offsets the color of the main beams. Looks great!
