Maple End Grain Cutting Board

Almost too beautiful to use!

I bought 3 items: 12"X18" end-grain maple cutting board; the matching sidekick board; and a care kit. Both boards have feet, making them extremely stable, easier to keep dry on the bottom, and easier/less messy to oil. I'm 5'4", the board height with feet is fine for me. I do wish I got finger grooves on the larger board, which would have made it easier to grip when the feet are pointed up. As forewarned, the boards soak up lots of oil, and I needed to buy more oil after the 3rd weekly treatment. I was expecting that and don't mind the work. To me, the boards are so worth it. They are a pleasure to use.

Having wanted real quality cutting boards for many, many years, I was finally able to fulfill my dream and ordered two Boardsmith boards, the 12x18 and the Sidekick. I am so very happy with both. I found a spot in my kitchen for them to live where I can enjoy their beauty throughout the day and using them is pure pleasure. The oiling maintenance is easy, almost fun, and insures they will be in good condition when my son inherits them.

The maple end cutting board with feet will make slicing and dicing a real pleasure. It’s easy to lift up and down, and the knife edge feels great against the wood. Also appreciate the detailed care and maintenance instructions. This will last a life time or more!
