amazing grinder
Amazing grinder. Very consistent and fluffy grinds. Grind by weight is the best! After the initial setup and learning curve, every day has been a breeze.

From Baratza Vario to the Eureka Mignon Libra
The Baratza Vario is an excellent grinder that has served me well for over 10 years. I especially appreciated the "right to repair" philosophy of the Baratza people. However I decided it was time to upgrade with two goals in mind. First I wanted a quieter machine, as the Vario is very loud and second I wanted a machine that dosed by weight and not by time. The Libra is not just quiet, but makes a pleasing sound. Sometimes I am tempted to make an espresso, just to hear the grinder at work. The big surprise is the advantage of a weight based dosing. Dialing in the right grind without having to recalibrate the time with every adjustment is a huge gamechanger. In just a few minutes the machine was ready to go with very little waste of coffee on sample shots. The continuously variable grind adjustment also contributed to the ease of setting up the machine. I only make espresso, so the difficulty in switching accurately between grinds in the Libra is not an issue for me. The Baratza is superior for switching between grinds because of its recordable settings. Another surprise is the lack of coffee grounds accumulating around the machine. With the Libra there are literally none. For me, the upgrade was well worth the cost.

Love it!
I’ve had the Libra for a couple weeks now and I love it. It’s a huge upgrade from my old Breville Smart grinder pro and well worth the cost upgrade imo. Shot pours have been consistent, stepless grind setting is great and grind by weight has made everything so easy. No complaints so far. Would recommend!
