Exit Chute for DF Series Grinders

Necessary update for v1

I had the v1. Originally ordered from espresso outlet. But they were out of stock for the upgrade kit when I started getting really bad clogging. So I had to order from here. Shipping is fast. Product is great! The youtube channel is very helpful with step-by-step instructions on installing.

Good but install issues

There are 2 screws that need to be removed & reinstalled holding the chute in place. It is very easy for them to fall into the grinder (personal experience). It would be very bad to drop and not recover a screw into a motor. The solution would be to use screws that worked with a magnetic screwdriver. Standard stainless ones don't. A work around is to take a tiny (1mm?) dot of Blu-Tack and put it into the screw head. Scrape it off w/ a toothpick when done. It would also be good to have these items handy during the install: wire cutters/crimping tool, food grade grease (some use Vaseline but petrolatums like that will get very liquid when warm, so not the best choice). Finally, I used a kitchen towel plus a yoga block putting the grinder upside down tilted back at about a 30 degree angle, so if a screw did fall, it would not fall into the motor.

Simple Upgrade That Makes a Real Difference

The exit chute was easy to install and has made a noticeable improvement in my DF54 grinder. It helps reduce coffee buildup and makes the grinder easier to keep clean. It’s a simple part, but it definitely improves the overall experience. Very satisfied with the upgrade.
