Highly recommended for small animal surgical set-ups and lighting.

Our lab has been using some archaic mercury bulbs to light our surgical fields, of which, buying those bulbs from approved vendors was about as expensive as buying a light source from AmScope. Along the way to purchasing some new LED lights, we saw the microscopes being a fantastic price with multiple dimensions of flexibility and focal planes to chose from. A colleague of ours has a few of these scopes and highly recommended. Even though our surgical suite currently is outfitted with many scopes, i still find both the scope and available light sources from AmScope to be worth the very little price. The scopes are preferred and the only ones currently available that we can use with a biosafety cabinet for viral injections. The lights are a bit whiter than those from mercury bulbs which takes a small adjustment period but not a big deal and are more than bright enough. If you need a surgical microscope or light sources, i would recommend purchasing through Amscope 100%.

LED light ring

New light ring works great. Would be good if original description of microscope mentions that the LED light ring fades out over time, with a range of hours to expect. Of 3 microscopes bought together in summer 2020, this is the first one we had to replace.
