.150W Fiber Optic Dual Gooseneck Microscope Illuminator

Wow. I bought this so that I could have more directional and focused lighting while using my stereo microscope. I initially bought an LED ring light, but even on the highest brightness setting, it wasn't bright enough once you start getting up to 30x magnification. I was looking at the LED fiber optic light sources, but the color temperature of the ones I saw were all way too cool - around 6500K (for reference, pure white is around 5500K, and sunlight is 5000K). I enjoy looking at objects found in nature, so I didn't want a blueish/sterile hue on my subjects. The color temp of 3200K found in this halogen fiber optic light is warm, but still natural enough. The assembly itself is a bit larger than I thought (check dimensions if you're tight on space). The goosenecks are long enough and fairly easy to bend into position - and anyone who claims they're too stiff probably doesn't understand that bending them too far would compromise the glass fibers inside. I've run this thing for up to about 45 minutes so far, and the housing never got hot, so the fan and vents are doing their jobs. VERY bright light -- even slightly more than enough for photography at 35X under my stereo microscope. Excellent choice, I'm very happy with it!
