Beautiful cloak pattern, easy to follow
The pattern instructions are pretty detailed and flexible allowing for multiple options. The instructions are clear and easy to follow generally, although it did help that I wasn't a total beginner: there wasn't much detail about how to stitch the inner lining closed at the end. I did a slipstitch by hand - it mentioned closing by machine but I'm not sure how you would do that without having an ugly visible stitch. The cape design is really solid and having the two buttons in the front (instead of just one) helps it to not slide back onto the neck, and it sits beautifully on the shoulders. It was a pleasure to make this cloak, and my 4 year old loves it! (And looks so cute in it). I love that it has a lining, and overall it feels like it will last a long time (and fit him for a good long while!). Very happy with it, and will make another one shortly for my other child (and more to come!)

Great for novices!
The instructions were detailed and had pictures for every step. I usually sew quilts, not clothing, but I was able to make some lovely cloaks for my godchildren! I used fabric from my local reuse shop. I printed on standard printer and taped the pattern together. No problems at all.

Beautiful cape, simple pattern for beginners
I am solidly a beginner and found this pattern so easy to follow. I made some adjustments to the length so that it was more of a full-length cape for my 5-year old but it was simple to do with the pattern pieces. The cape turned out beautifully and is one of the more professional-looking items I have sewed :) This was my first Twig and Tale pattern and I'm looking forward to using more in the future.
