Soukou Matcha

this is so good! it tastes really nutty and toasty, and the flavors shine through in a latte. to me it tastes really cozy because of the toastiness. the color is a vibrant green and it had a strong nutty flavor as soon as i opened the tin. a high quality delicious matcha that is good in lattes!

Roasted rice , nutty

I found this matcha to have toasted nut notes verging on cocoa. It was wonderfully smooth and silky. It was simultaneously bold and delicate with a distinct flavour. Medium to light bodied. There was a faint whisper of bitterness, small enough to make me question if it was there or not. This only added to the complexity of what might otherwise be an overly decadent matcha. The mild umami rounds things off nicely. It makes a delicious and uniquely silky usucha. Undoubtedly very high quality with a stunning colour. I am excited to try kettl’s other offerings! This did not disappoint.
