Hero Bread Welcome Box

This Welcome box is definitely a welcome item. I was able to try many products and decide which I wanted to continue to purchase. The croissants are my favorite so far!!

Very nice variety and lots of positives, with only one detraction

Ok I got the welcome box with regular bread, seeded bread, plain bagels, everything bagels, tortillas, Hawaiian sweet rolls, and some croissants. The breads are really good, they feel and taste pretty much like real bread, though the texture is a little different. All of the products have a softness and elasticity that I have never seen in a normal bread. The softness is really nice, as it seems the bread doesn't seem to harden or stale the way traditional bread does. It toasts golden brown like regular bread, but doesn't ever really get what I'd call crispy, it's always a degree of soft. One thing that didn't transfer well though was grilling it in like a grilled cheese sandwich. That never crisping carries over so it was kind of odd. But overall especially for this kind of carb neutral bread it's all very good. The bagels are really good, but aren't really bagels, they are textured and basically just more like regular bread than a bagel. Good, but if you are a bagel purist, they don't have that tough chewiness a bagel normally would have. The tortillas taste just like a regular flour tortilla, aside from the elasticity thing when you tear it. The also fry reasonably well into taco shells, not exactly the same as a normal tortilla but this does actually give some crisp so it works. The Hawaiian sweet rolls were really good, though I wouldn't call them that sweet. They more were even closer to a traditional white bread than the bread was, so they were more like traditional dinner rolls, and were easily my favorite thing here. Finally the croissants were the closest to being exactly what the normal version is like. They are flaky and quite good, not that buttery like I would want, but better than some typical wal-mart style ones you find in a big store. Overall a great experience with every item, but the price is a huge hurdle still. The prices in general are just absurd, but that is stood by some truly great product as well.

I am new to Hero products so the welcome box was perfect! Everything so far is delicious! I loved the croissant. And the pizza crust is perfect for portion control.
