🌟NEW PRODUCT🌟 Hyper-Thin 45lb Pairs

I am giving the plates 4 stars. I am not dissatisfied with the weights but wanted to call out a couple of issues I have noticed after the first month. All the weights are functional, and I understood I was purchasing an economy bumper plate. I ordered 465lb of bumper plates: 8 slim x 45lb, 4 x 10lb, 2 x 25lb, 2 x 5lb, 2 x 2.5lb. The finish on all the plates is far from perfect. The bevel on the edges (especially the 10lb) is very inconsistent. The plates look distinctly different because of this. The color fleck in each plate is also pretty variable. Some of the plates have a very rough unfinished look at the edge; others have areas that did not get beveled at all. See the attached photos. The slim 45s are very nice but still have some less-than-perfect finish. The bevel width again is a little variable, but it's much less noticeable than on the 10s. There is some visible cupping/warping on the 10lb plates and 2.5lb change plates. The 2.5lb change plates have a very slightly narrower collar than the other plates. This is not an issue on the Rogue barbell, but it's a minor inconvenience on a mace that also has a standard-diameter handle. The 5lb change plate fits no problem, but the 2.5lb do not. I have other smaller-increment change plates from another brand that also fit without issue. That, to me, confirms it's the 2.5lb plate collar issue. I have a photo of this as well with the 2.5lb sitting on top of the handle with a 5lb properly seated. Overall, the weights work as intended. I can drop them on heavy lifts, and they hold up well. So far, the durability has been great. I am very satisfied with the value but wanted to call out the minor visual imperfections for others spending a lot of time shopping for weights as I did.

For competitive Olympic weightlifting I would recommend upgrading to a different style of plate, but for general strength training these are great value for the money. For competitive Olympic weightlifting the issues I experienced were with balance throughout the plate, or it could be very minor issues with concentricity of the insert. When the plates are suspended, the same spot on the plate will always spin back and forth until it has settled into the lowest position. If you are using a needle bearing bar, you likely won’t feel it in your hands. With a bushing bar in the Olympic lifts, you might have to deal with some small rotational forces. I wouldn't be concerned with it outside of the Olympic lifts regardless of the bar. While a needle bearing bar will negate any perception of this during the pull, it is very difficult to get a clean drop from overhead. Since the plates are almost certainly going to be rotating as they hit the ground, the bar will almost always spit left of right after hitting the floor. I want to be clear that these issues are minor, but they are noticeable with this style of lifting. The actual weight of the plates were very accurate across whole my order, and the rubber appears to be just as high quality as all other crumb rubber I’ve used. The inserts might be a slightly lower quality than some of the other crumb rubber plates I have used, small imperfections in the diameter and finish did cause quite a bit of cosmetic damage to my barbell sleeves, however I have been dropping them from overhead. Id assume there will still be some damage to the sleeve even if you are not dropping from overhead, but closer to routine wear than what I experienced. If you have a bar with a coating I’d consider the humidity the bar will be left in because of this, but if it is stainless or bare steel then I wouldn’t worry about it. It certainly won’t end up causing any issues to the function of your bar, but worth considering to avoid rust. I did discuss my issues with customer service and they were very patient, had great response times, and did help me to find a resolution that I am satisfied with. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a very well priced general training plate!

Looks to be good quality. Need a good brushing out of package to get them clean. The molding on some of the words/numbers isn't very crisp, but not an issue with functionality.
