I feel like this one actually isn’t super fruity compared to more fruit-forward blends like Sermon from Verve. Instead, it leans more toward citrus, rather than those ultra-realistic, naturally processed fruit notes. It’s balanced and nuanced, though perhaps a little thin. I always find Intelligentsia’s style tends to emphasize light cocoa notes and sweetness, even when they aren’t explicitly listed in the tasting notes. This one is a bit tricky to pull since it’s roasted on the lighter side, and it took me a while to dial in. If you’re someone who loves heavy crema and high-ounce milk drinks, this probably won’t be for you. It’s a relatively thin, bright espresso. For me, it tasted best as a cortado.

I’m no expert, but I think this coffee is underroasted. I really struggled to get the grind and the temperature right for a good pull. After 3 bags I’ve decided this isn’t the coffee for me—and possibly not a good one at all.
