On a fractional size violins 1/2 or 3/4 it takes two weeks for the strings to settle if you play 1 hour a day. They are awesome, they will definitely make a violin sound rich and warm, if your violin is very bright this will balance the sound. On the first few days our violins sounded very dark and after a week the sound just got better and better.

Jury is still out
I'm an amateur and bought these strings knowing they were intended for professionals. I read they were harder to play but offered the opportunity for more nuanced tone. I tend to play too close to the fingerboard, and to not "dig into" the strings enough, so I thought these strings might force me to improve those things. To my amazement, my teacher now says I'm playing too close to the bridge, so I'd say these strings have definitely pointed me in the right direction. I was previously using Vision Solo or Orchestra strings, and after 2-3 weeks with the Kaplan I'm still not sure whether they sound more harsh. But anyone reading this review should understand I'm an amateur and probably not the best judge of strings!

Kaplan Amo violin strings
I’ve used Kaplan Amo strings for a couple of years. They are warm and transmit a warm sound. Have tried other strings and my violin doesn’t sound as nice.
