This metal clip is durable (for example, cannot/won't be cut through by the sharp E-string). IMO, it transmits sound significantly better than the traditional parchment protector. The somewhat narrow titanium clip width might require you to trim the top of the bridge (probable most quality bridge setups would do this anyway) for the best snug fit of the very small titanium clip -- I choose to use a tiny bit of glue, or 5-min epoxy, to assure a very secure fit of this titanium clip; a good fit ensures enhanced sound transmission. BTW, I'm just an amateur dabbler with violin setups, so YMMV.
