Excellent sounding bridge, worth the effort

Having done setups on my personal instruments - guitars, banjos, mandolins, want to learn setup/adjustment skills for violin. There's a steeper learning curve for violin setup, but worth the effort and many hours spent experimenting. Have two Fiddlershop violins, and have relicked and added to the antiquing, but very happy with the results. I've bought a bunch of bridge blanks and have learned through experimentation what works and what doesn't. Soundposts have fallen often, and I've learned how to reinstall and adjust them. My soundpost reinstalls and tweaks continue to get faster over time. I assumed that playing fiddle style required a flatter bridge, and adjusted many bridges (and ruined many), only to come back to the standard arch, doublechecked with a bridge template. A high quality bridge blank is essential. I can understand why a luthier would charge $75-100 or more to provide this service. The skills are not impossible to learn, and I've gotten very good results with the Despiau bridge I've fitted to my recently aquired Workshop Kreisler.
