Description
Improved Cylindra type. 65 days. Heaviest harvests come from elongated beets, and Carillon really delivers. Robust crops produce slender, 6 inch, dark red roots with strong tops. A uniform and vigorous variety, we've found it shows better resistance to foliar diseases than Cylindra.

Great germination and good crop of uniformly sized beets. Grown in a raised bed. Better tasting than Cylindra and made tasty pickled beets. Success in Zone 5 in the Midwest with wacky weather conditions in 2025.

Carrillo Beet
I successfully grow cylinders beets each year for canning. First year trying the Carrillo and didn’t get a single beet. Greens are just sitting there not bulbing. Tried planting 2 different times in 2 different beds. Disappointing as I don’t have any pickled beets for the winter now.
