Amazing Pattern that I'll keep coming back to!
This is the second time I've sewn this pattern now and I've loved both results, they're high quality and don't have that 'homemade' look to them at all. I've also used the chat function here to have some question answered and have found the twig and tale team super kind and helpful. There are two notes I'd give, if, like me you read through the comments before buying/sewing: 1) It doesn't say this in the instructions, but cut your lining bigger than the main, especially if you're using heavy wool like I did with a thin lining. I got lucky on my first one but with this one despite stay stitching, the lining seemed too small and is pulling on the outside fabric a bit. Not the patterns fault obviously but I don't have a lot of experience lining garments and hoped it would help someone else. 2) The pockets on this are small. Like I can barely fit my phone in small. On the second one I modified the pattern a bit to give myself more room and it's much better now. So if you rely on vest pockets consider doing that or maybe even buying the cute patch pocket set here and adding one of those. I'm a pocket girl and I need to at least fit my phone. All in all I adore this pattern and am about to buy the male version to make one for my husband too as he's very jealous of me and my mum. Thanks Twig and Tale for such quality work!

made it easy to learn!
I'm new to sewing so I was a little overwhelmed by the amount of content provided in the pattern, but it was wonderful. I had a great time and I learned so many new things. The instructions are clear and detailed, I loved having a printable summary and used it just as suggested, and the pattern variations were so much fun. I did have an experienced person help me as well, but that was mostly to talk through ideas. Details of my project: I made the quilted/puffer version, size f, with a fair number of customizations. For context, I had quilted some wool to use for a cute boxy sweatshirt pattern only to realize that it was absolutely not going to be cute and instead would just be a box. So this stiff quilted fabric was repurposed as a Trailblazer Vest that I love! I wanted it to be somewhat cropped because of the stiff fabric, so adjustments were made. Customizations: I slimmed down the vest a little extra by narrowing the side pieces at the side seam. I shortened the pieces at the bottom instead of at the suggested spot to reduce the curvature a bit, I felt that would be more appropriate for the cropped look. I added a ribbed collar to the top instead of fabric, mostly because I was attached to the rib collar from the original sweatershirt plan. And, finally, I finished the hem and armholes with "bias tape" made of leftover (unquilted) wool.

No hip adjustment finally
Only had to adjust height to shorten and thanks to the exact measurement to adjust for inch reduction I finally didn’t have to guess. I also learned how to adjust a zipper. Loved the pattern and it fits perfectly!
