Great upgrade for the Leap V1

Crandall's replacement Steelcase Leap V1 armrests actually feel like more of an upgrade than a direct replacement. The original V1 armrests were constructed with a foam center covered by a vinyl boot, a design that was both harder to the touch and tended to separate over time as the adhesive holding the boot on failed. Crandall's replacement armrests use the same manufacturing process as the Leap V2 armrests, a newer process which forms the armrests out of a solid piece of foam. It's both a more reliable and more comfortable design, especially if you tend to dig your elbows into the armrests. Would recommend this to anyone with Leap V1, even if your original armrests are still in good condition.

I purchased my leather upholstered Steelcase Leap V1 chair early in 1999, 27 yeas ago. It is my home office chair and I sit in it for many hours every day. The comfort and support are unmatched and irreplaceable by any other office chair including the Leap V2 that replaced the V1 model years ago.. When the left armrest pad broke I had to get a replacement and I'm thankful that Crandall provided a recycled pair of pads quickly. Note, the Left and Right pads are interchangeable by 180 degree rotation.
