Great product, with room for improvements
Love the functionality and overall design, however, room for improvements exist.
First and foremost, be aware that while the bed has lumbar and head rest adjustments on this model, and the manuals and website state that positions can be programmed into one of the three memory buttons on the remote, the system does NOT save the lumbar or head rest settings. I’ve spoken to support numerous times on the matter and they acknowledge the missing functionality. While they stated there were looking to update the manual to correct the statements around this, they should add the saving functionality to the system, not going backwards and removing it from the manual. Also, if you have various positions set for head rest, back, lumbar, feet, then select a memory position of different settings, the head rest and lumbar don’t change which might not work well with the new positions for the back and foot; you have to adjust the head rest and lumbar manually again or invoke the Flat button to reset the bed then invoke the new memory position.
Underbed lighting - Would be nice to have different color options than just white as some other bed system makers now have. In today’s colorful LED world, this is easy to implement and should be standard. There is also a blue LED on the controller box that is unnecessarily bright that stays on all the time and may bother light sensitive people who prefer a totally dark room. I have friends who have this bed system who have put a piece of electrical tape over that light.
Lack of Headboard - They make a very cool headboard with LED lighting that pairs with a different model of their adjustable beds that should be available for the top of the line Rio models, and that headboard lighting should be dimmable and color selectable.
iOS App - The app needs work… need to be able to save memory positions via the app, and the app needs to better support Split King setups so you can easily adjust either side of the bed without the convoluted process of connecting to each side of the bed back and forth. Sometimes you want to adjust both sides of the bed to the same settings or only have one iOS device in the bedroom.
Side mattress bars - While the bar at the foot of the bed keep the mattress sliding off during adjustments, they also need smaller bars on the outsides of the bed to keep the mattress moving side to side. We always set our bed position BEFORE getting into it, which unavoidably causes the mattress to buckle up a bit, but when getting out of bed and reseting to Flat, the mattresses typically misalign and we are constantly pushing them back towards the center.
Home Automation - They need to “get with the times” and be controllable with home automation systems via the Matter standard, over the Thread networking standard, and support ALL functionality of the bed system (all four motors, lighting, massage).
