Gaggia MDF 55 Grinder

High quality unit with excellent performance. Wish the cycle switch was mounted differently to facilitate cup dosing. The forks intended for the portafilter were put on and taken off to facilitate the use of a cup. Price to value was excellent due to $100 bundle discount, which is what holds me back from swapping it for a cup dedicated unit. The “user interface “ aspect is the only shortcoming for this unit. Digital display is very easy to use. I’m a newbie and had I known I would settle on cup dosing I would have gone another direction despite the discount.

Excellent grind and easy to use

I’ve had the MDF 55 about a week and its grind produces the most heavenly espresso flavor and crema compared to other grinders I have used in the same price range. Flavor is enough for me, but on top of that the MDF 55 is on the small side to save counter space, it is pretty quiet, and the simple digital display (my first for a grinder) is functional and fun to use. I do plan to keep the grinder clean to maintain the grind quality I now will always expect.

Decent Grinder

Decent grinder with infinite grind settings. Sometimes gets stuck mid grind when pausing with a fine grind size which can be annoying.
