Gaggia Accademia

A great machine and a great cup of espresso!

I love my new Gaggia Accademia. It does take some time for it to calibrate itself and once it gets there it's great. It is also fun to try out new drinks and it is so quick and easy. I love being able to tweak my drink and then saving that tweak! It was a little intimidating at first with the maintenance, but one you do it a few times its really easy.

7 months in and loving this machine

This is a great machine that makes great coffee. I spent so much time researching for hours to determine which machine to buy. I watched so many YouTube videos from Whole Latte Love and other youtubers as well. So. Many. Hours. So many blog posts. Two of my biggest hang ups were the temperature of the coffee from this machine and the drip tray being small. For the temperature, a lot of reviewers noted it wasn't hot enough. After getting my machine, I can say I do agree that certain drinks are not hot enough for me. BUT. . some are. the coffee and Americano, cappuccino, plus a couple of others are perfect hot temperature, even after milk or cream are added. The latte and a few other milk drinks, just aren't hot enough. If I use a Yeti for my latte, it's almost perfect temp, but does cool quickly. The reason I chose this machine is so that I could learn to use the manual milk steam wand and make my milk drinks as hot as I would like them. To me, that is the answer to having this great machine and also having hot lattes. So if you are on the fence, I would say this machine is worth it. You get great espresso and with a little bit extra work, you can have a steaming hot latte. I am a latter lover all the way, but after playing with all the automatic drinks, my go to now is a cappuccino because it's the temp I like and it's just as delicious. As for the complaints with the drip tray. . . it was another pain point that was hard to look over. After having the machine now for 7 months, I can honestly say it doesn't bother me that much. I am glad that liquid isn't sitting in my machine a super long time and getting gross, it forces you to get it out and get it rinsed frequently. Overall, I highly recommend!

Gaggia is the premium brand for a reason the Academia doesn't disappointed. This is a replacement for my OG Academia. And Wow what a step forward. All the qauilty with new features I love. More drink options, easy customization even on the fly and profiles make this a win win for the whole family
