Makes the right sounds

I have had a set of Alnico 2 in a 1996 LP for a few years and just put this set on a mid-1970's Antoria ES175 copy. I repair and restore guitars and my ears make these decisions. If they told me it was worth spending more of course I would.

Amazing pickups

I installed a set of Tonerider AC2 pickups in my 2016 Godin Summit Classic CT, and the result completely transformed the guitar. From the very first notes, the tone is rich and organic, with a clear inspiration from high-end Les Paul-style guitars. The overall sound easily sits in the range of a $4,000–$5,000 Gibson, both in warmth and presence. On the neck pickup, you get a warm, full-bodied tone that remains very musical without becoming muddy. The clean sound is expressive and rich, with excellent definition. On the bridge pickup, the attack is tight, punchy, and singing—perfect for classic rock lead tones in the style of Slash, with real character and bite. One of the most impressive aspects is the volume control response. This is the first time I’ve truly used the volume knob so extensively on a guitar. Rolling back the volume while in a driven setting naturally shifts the tone from saturated to clean, without any loss in quality or dynamics. Even better, the clean tone doesn’t simply get quieter—it actually evolves. The neck pickup becomes more detailed and articulate, with a very pleasant top end that stays smooth and never harsh. Overall, this is a highly positive upgrade. On an already premium instrument like the Godin Summit Classic, the Tonerider AC2 pickups bring a strong vintage humbucker character—musical, versatile, and very inspiring to play.

Excellent PAF style pickup

I bougt this as a replacement for a chepo pickup in a Squier and was aiming for a Gibson 57 Classic (as in my SG). I think I got really close and I am super happy. Not the least with Toneriders superfast shipping!
