The Trinity bomb experiment was the first test of a nuclear weapon developed by the United States. Conducted on July 16, 1945, in the Jornada del Muerto desert near Alamogordo, New Mexico, the bomb was a plutonium implosion-type device with a yield of approximately 20 kilotons of TNT. The test was led by physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, w

I haven’t received this yet. It didn’t come with my delivery order as expected. I am still working through the process. I am hopeful that it will be delivered soon. Thanks.

A nice Lucite cube sample of Trinitite, but only historically connected to Plutonium. There is no radioactivity being emitted (including alpha and gamma radiation) that’s higher than the background radiation. (In contrast, the autunite samples for uranium and astatine do give off “high” detectable radiation.) So if the sample is true Trinitite, then at least you have something that was once connected to plutonium but now is totally depleted of any detectable radiation.
