The grill grates are a must have for any 640 owner. This would complete the cycle of being able to cook any way with your 640. Its cooking over a live fire. It will give your food that chefs kiss. Your doing yourself a disservice by not adding this to your arsenal of cooking when it comes to your Yoder 640. I love it so much.. .this is my second set of grill grates.

Gives a great sear on steak

The best way to turn your Yoder pellet smoker into a high-sear station. I love being able to smoke and sear on the same machine.
