Matcha Yame Okumidori Miyako

My wife and I are new to matcha, and we were delighted when we found the Nios website. The Tasting Notes helped us choose the Yame Okumidori Miyakoand Kiwami Sakamoto matchas. Nios was generous in gifting to us a packet of Oishi Ceremonial Saemidori. The Tasting Notes did its work and we are enjoying all three.

I've really enjoyed my first experience of Matcha Yame Okumidori Miyako. The colour is a beautiful deep jade green and the texture incredibly smooth, creamy and velvety. Flavour is very well rounded with a pleasant bitter-sweet reminiscent of dark chocolate with a toasty aroma of cocoa. This is probably my favourite of the 3 matcha teas I have purchased from Nio Teas so far.

It's a nice, mild matcha. Not very complex, and I find the individual notes are hard to pick out -- it just tastes like matcha (and that's not a bad thing). Not everything has to be complicated.
