Wusthof Classic Ikon 6" Chef's Knife

Great knife, poor QC

It’s a great knife, the quality of the material is undeniable. The size is perfect for smalller hands. I was a bit perplexed by the edge out of the box. It came with a prominent burr. I mean, you could see it by eye. It couldn’t be fixed with a strop. After a few passes on a whetstone it cuts like a dream but I wonder about those who don’t have/ don’t use whetstones? Also, while the handle is one of the most comfortable I’ve ever experienced, it looks to me that it is still sized for an 8 inch blade. This is a 6” so the balance point is way back inthe handle. I still like it because it serves a very specific purpose in my case but Wusthof should be more careful with their processes and designs.
