The simple machine brought amazing relief for post-surgical pain. I do recommend using either the small freezable cubes, the sealable bags that are included filled with water and frozen, or simply frozen small bottles of water. Otherwise, you are making multiple trips to the sink to empty water from melted ice as well as constantly having to be sure that your ice maker is keeping ahead of demand and making multiple trips to the freezer for ice. The hip pad took a bit of maneuvering as the straps are very long for me but I figured out placement of the Velcro and positioning of the straps for maximum comfort and flexibility.

My view Pro's and Con's

Ordered the Breg Polar Care Kodiak cooler with Hip Pad, am 100% satisfied with the product. Pro's Easy to use, and maintain. Has been great for ice therapy after hip surgery. Hip pad fits and covers the area's as show in your ad, has enough hose that you are not restricted to movement, or fear of turning unit over. Ice stays in machine a good while and is easy to empty and refill. Connections with the hose to the machine is very basic, and does not allow any leakage. Maintains a consistent cold, with no, and very little condensation, which is a great plus if your laying or sitting. Would buy unit again, and would suggest to anyone having hip, knee, shoulder or back issues. Con The only thing I would say that may be taken negative but isn't really a complaint at all is that there is no timer, or on and off switch. However, I bought a timer (30 min intervals), and a drop cord with an on and off switch. (both for less than $20), and can actually go to sleep and have it come off and on during my recovery period.
