Universal Reusable Ice Bag Packs

Lifesaver!!

I was using a friends much more expensive “Game Ready” and knew I couldn’t keep it forever, so I started to research other options. I couldn’t be happier with the Breg Polar Care Wave and the reusable ice bags. I was going through bags of ice daily, but don’t need to anymore, the bags are great and they last hours vs. minutes.

Bag Packs

The polar Care machine is excellent. The reusable bags are not very good. They leak after they are sealed and the instructions say to place 4 in the machine however the top of the machine never fits with 4 bags. The most I am able to put is 2.

Not worth it.

The bags are convenient for one-time filling, i.e., they have fill lines, so you don’t have to measure the amount to put into the bag – whoopie! However, the bags appear to have ab out the same mil rating as food storage bags and therefore are not robust enough for reuse (like Soft Ice bags, which are far superior). Case in point: first time users probably remove spent bags and do a causal wipe of the bag before placing it into the freezer. This causes the bag to freeze onto the freezer shelf. When removed the plastic can be torn or weakened, and prone to eventual leaking. If these bags are to be continued, the instructions should be updated to say that in addition to being wiped dry, bags for refreezing should be placed in plastic bowls, and in cases where the bags have been frozen to bowl, run warm water over the bottom of the bowl to release the bag.
