Nightmare

Since buying my house with this already installed it has been nothing but problems. First the company went under and the app lost all function. Then some people bought it and brought the app back and charged a fee. So I have to pay for an app to use my lights. Fast forward to a house leak/flood that required cabinets to be removed and one of 4 - 8 button panels had to be removed. Then one shorted out. The replacements don't work. Now all the lights are messed up and it seems to change which operates a light. Then one of the motion sensor lights is messed up and just goes on and off when nothing is happening. I've had 4-5 electricians here to try and fix it. None can. That about sums up my experience. I just changed all the bulbs in the house over time to WiFi bulbs

Outlets work great

I bought several of these outlets to control our Christmas tree lights, both indoors and out. Very pleased with the ease of setup and use. The Director App is intuitive.

As a electrical contractor that designs and wires 50+ plus houses annually i try to get everyone to think about smart switches from a safety point coming home to a non dark house , away on vacation , or my wife's favorite " nuclear " word that turns on every light inside and outside house if i am l away and she hears that bump in the night. Integration with Google and alexa just adds another level of functionality. Many customers want to go with a smart system but try to utilize the cheap Amazon stuff which after countless installs totally would say you get what you pay for. Added exceptional customer service ( recently dealing with Rob, BLEW ME AWAY) definitely not what I've found with other brands. Highly recommend insteon and thier products for anyone looking to upgrade from basic switch. D and T Electric
