Works Great for HA Zigbee
the range of this thing is impressive and it works really well compared to my hubitat passed through to HA. I have over 30 zigbee devices in random places in my 2000sqft house made of brick. including aquara OCC sensors and they work really well.

Nice add on to a self built Home Assistant device.
I will have to do a bit more testing for range,
but everything looks good on setup and
running fine after a nice burn in period.

awesome for Home Assistant
I used to rock an AOTEC Zigbee dongle using ZHA but I decided to upgrade to this one for different reasons: first, it can be used in either thread or Zigbee mode. Second, it is designed to be seamlessly integrated in HA. Third, the price is reasonable. Fourth, it is very elegant looking (to my eyes), to the point I would not be bothered if I had to set it up somewhere in the middle of my house, like the living room, for example. Finally, I decided to switch from ZHA to Zigbee2MQTT, which is far more customizable and powerful.
Setup was as easy as they claimed. I connected it to my HA box, and it was instantly discovered. I set it up with Zigbee2MQTT, and was able to quickly re-add all my zigbee devices into HA (since I migrated from ZHA to Z2M, it had to be done, sadly). I am not a HA power user by any stretch; however, I read good things about the Connect - ZBT-2, and decided to take a chance in order to improve my zigbee network. I am glad I did.
