Why Change the Mounting Footprint?

This was a replacement SAE J1772 holster for one I bought several years ago. For some reason they changed the mounting footprint. Had to patch and make all new holes to mount the new one. Why would you change the mounting footprint???

Perfect holster

This holster is the perfect size and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. I don’t use it for wrapping my cord on but I could. I needed a holster for my plug when not charging my car and I needed a straight holster, not one that was at a sideways angle. And this one is supposed to be able to survive UV and so far it seems to be holding up great. Good price too!
