Really works well
The device works right out of the box, no drivers needed on Linux, just using it with a terminal program. I downloaded the source code and printed it for a reference of commands; they are described in the comments. I have also designed a program to poll the charger status using the serial port, and display results. One installation note, that a hole has to be drilled in the back of the case to allow the USB connector to come through, and keep the cover on. This is easy with wood walls but would be hard if it is mounted on a concrete wall. The wireless device would not require any holes.
