Great machine
The New Hobby is solidly built, has the feel of a commercial machine, and makes great espresso.

Excellent espresso machine!

Love it. I did have to reach out to tech support. There is hi-limit switch for temperature that is super easy to trigger. Plan to learn how to open the machine and press the red button to reset it, or just don’t purchase. After each use of the steam wand, you need to pump water through the steam wand and continue to run the pump until around 8 oz of water flows out of the steam wand, or you will trigger the temp switch, and the machine won’t heat up. A recent review stated that they had to reset the switch after every other use; I had the same experience until allowing a full 8 oz of water (not steam) to pump through the steam wand after every use. Run the heck out of that pump after steaming. Only had this about two weeks but it seems solid, well made. This replaced my second Gaggia classic and the difference in quality is impressive. I got a bottomless portafilter and it pours out in a nice stream in the middle. My espresso has much fuller body and flavor. I use a virtuoso + multipurpose grinder and cararo taza doro coffee. Latte art is harder than seen on you tube, but the machine cannot be blamed. 3 liters sounds like a lot, but this thing goes through a lot of water. I am the only coffee drinker in my home, and we do not entertain guests. I go through around 3 liters every other day, making one latte daily with 2 shots of espresso and steaming around 8 oz of whole, non-homogenized milk. There is very little space on my counter and this is a very solid machine that makes no waste of space. O and it does heat up super quickly, both for coffee and for steaming milk. I am extremely pleased with my new machine. I hope it lasts longer than the Gaggia classics (5 years each time- my husband gifted me the first one), but honestly, this is a great machine.
