Changing dynamics are now smooth transitions!

I can't get over how this reed allows me to play smoothly within a wide range of dynamics. I've never hit high notes so softly. I can also play at FF without sounding overblown. I highly recommend Legeres. Mine soprano is a curved bell model and although the reed is a little long for the mouthpiece it doesn't affect the tone or playability.

I have been using the soprano French cut reeds since they came out, and I am a huge fan. They keep my tone pure and allow me to be expressive on the classical side of the horn and sensitive in a way that the signature cut didn't quite allow. I love this reed!

Does not pair well with large chamber, small tip opening mouthpieces. I wanted to buy a Legere rather than cane reeds for convenience, but the Legere reed felt like playing on a size 2 compared to my cane reeds - Very very bright tone with little control, not really desirable for classical playing. I cannot exchange it due to the US Shipping issues right now, so I have a reed with no use unfortunately. On a modern mouthpiece, it still plays very bright. I recommend going a half size over what you'd normally play on. Seems like the tip profile of the reed itself is very thin. If you're going for resistance, especially on a vintage style mouthpiece, I would go for a reed with a thicker spine and tip. I'd love to try the American or Signature reeds, but again, I cannot exchange, and I do not want to spend $35 per reed for the chance the experience may be the same.
