B♭ Clarinet French Cut

No fuss reeds.

I am picking the clarinet and bass clarinet again after half a decade. I really appreciate having a reed that doesn't need break in fussing over with dutch rush.

I played a very early prototype of this reed at the ClarinetFest in Denver, and it was very promising. The design of the final product changed and made it better. I do also like the European Cut, but the French Cut gives me a better feel of control, resistance and centered tone. I still enjoy playing on my very best cane reeds, but the ones that compare are few and far between. I love the consistency and predictability. No one has ever guessed that I am playing on a synthetic reed.

I play both cane and Legere French Cut 3.0 and 3.25 reeds. The vast majority of time it's Legere! I pratice every day and rotate three Legere 3.0 reeds. My main instrument is a 1959 Selmer Centered Tone. Mouthpiece is a refaced Selmer HS*. Légère Reeds are so consistent and I love the resonse!
