Shifrin and Signature
I recently purchased a Backun Shifrin Signature clarinet mouthpiece, and I have been experimenting with Legere reeds. The Signature won hands down. FYI, I chose the 3.50 strength. Perfect intonation and response from low E up through altissimo G! And this is on my vintage 1967 Selmer Series 10! WOW! Larry L Schauer

Nice balance!
I ordered the Signature reed and it has a nice tone balance that is not too bright. I also found it nice to play on all registers.

It takes a little work to get this right.
Good news: each time you play these reeds, they play the same way. There's none of that unpredictability you have with cane reeds. The tone is also beautiful. However, they play very differently on different mouthpiece, the stiffness chart on the website is very inexact in converting from cane, and the styles (I've been using Signature and French Cut) have very different strengths relative to the numerical designations on the reed between the styles. Having said all of this, my days with cane reeds are over.
