Almost There

I purchased a Soprano Reed (usually play a Java Red cane). I'm gigging more with my quartet and need more reed reliability. I play a Signature on my tenor (Cannonball VR with an Otto Link 5*) that I absolutely LOVE. Unfortunately, I severely underestimated the strength I need on the soprano, so I need to order another, but love the sound of the Signature Series and the play-ability in all ranges.

Just as Consistent as the Tenor Reeds

After playing the Legere Tenor Reeds for 5 months, I decided to give the soprano reeds a try. My initial concern was a compromise on the warmth of the tone, and it proved to be just as warm and projected more than the cane! I am truly impressed. I find that I needed to choose a strength 0.25 less than the strength I was playing on cane reeds.

I don’t know if you remember me, from Philadelphia. I have Always been a great fan of Legere. I made a mistake when I ordered these reeds and I left the strength at number two, even though I intended for it to be number four. Regardless, they are excellent reeds, and even though these are little too soft for me to use at the moment, I’ll keep them in the drawer for a rainy day, and will order some number four in the near future.
