Eb Classic is Terrible
I currently play a Legere 3.75 B-flat clarinet French cut read on my E flat Clarinet set up. I cannot believe that this 3.50 E-flat Clarinet classic is so hard. Even my local professor couldn’t get it to play. Terribly hard. It seems like it has a slight ridge on the right side. Is this defective? They have “paused” the exchange policy due to tariffs, so I’m unsure what will happen.

Need quarter sizes
The Legere reeds work well for the Eb clarinet that often sits idle through several selections before being needed. Its great to not worry about your reed drying out and not being ready to start. I do prefer the sound I get on the Classic vs the European cut for Eb. It blends better with the ensemble. I do wish it were offered in quarter sizes similar to the European cut. The 3.0 is too much of a battle, but the 2.5 struggles in the altissimo register. A 2.75 might be just the right fit.

Good reed
I sized down to 3.5 from my normal size 4 wooden reed and it was nice but I noticed even had sized down it takes a considerable amount of air to get the sound out! It creates a nice and consistent tone, even fixing some tuning issues in the throat and altissimo registers, but it requires so much air to get sound out. I would recommend with this reed size down more than you’d think!
