Baritone Saxophone American Cut

Great sound, but 3 reeds cracked quick

I've ordered multiple reeds and all have had great sound quality, but the Bari sax reeds I've ordered for playing contra alto clarinet have all developed cracks after only a few total hours of practice, usually in bursts of 30 minutes at any given time, which has been very disappointing because the sound quality has been great otherwise.

I tried the American Cut on both my Yamaha YAS-61 with a Van Doren Jumbo Java mouth piece (1.75 strength) and on my Yani B901 bari with a Van Doren B7 mouth piece (2.0 strength). Couldn't be happier with both. Easy full bottom end with great response and ease right up to F#. Pick the horns up and practice right away even if only for a short time. Really improves practice time as once you get practicing you want to keep practicing especially when everything is so free and easy!

Love my reeds, got alto and Bari American cut 2.75s. Only note I have about specifically the Bari one is that if you play on a smaller faced mouthpiece, the reed needs to be positioned specifically in order for it to blow properly. My facing is quite narrow but it gets a great robust sound. Just have to take note before playing.
