Great English Horn Reeds!
I have been a long time Legere fan and when I heard they were starting to experiment with double reeds, I had to get some! I just got an English Horn about 4 weeks ago and while I d id love the cane reeds, I needed to try the Legere reeds! I got a Medium strength and to me, it is a little bit hard for a Medium as I still had to put a lot of air out more than I normally would with cane reeds. That us the only reason I give it 4 stars because it's a little harder than my liking, but not much! I still reccomend this reed!

Great for Doubling!
I've always struggled with making reeds, and found that purchasing reeds usually meant wasting a lot of money on reeds I hated. This has been a great alternative! Yes, it's a significant upfront expense, but being able to swap between EH and oboe without worrying about soaking (or oversoaking) reeds has been worth it. The only real sticking point is that I have had to do a bit of trial and error in order to get the reed to sit securely on my bocal. Current solution is a bit of plumbers tape wrapped around the bocal tip, when the reed is fitted over it it gives a snugger fit.

Love love love this reed!
I wanted to have a reed that I could count on whenever I have to double with my oboe and not worry about it drying out or needing a few notes before warming up. This reed solves that problem and plays beautifully even when “cold”. Makes my EH lower and middle registers speak beautifully! Upper register is acceptable- but my upper register never sounds great anyway and seldom need to play in that range all that much anyway. Stable pitch and projection. I actually enjoy this reed more than my cane reeds! I will always have a Legere EH reed in my case from now on, ready to play! Love it!
