I am still getting accustomed to this wonderful knife, but I am very impressed with it. Great quality. Thoroughly pleased.

Beautiful knife, not the best for large hands

The finish and quality of the knife is excellent. It looks and feels amazing, the finish is not painted (as stated in another review) but appears to be oxidized or anodized onto the hammered metal prior to grinding. The knife came extremely sharp, though the honed edge is not ground equally on both sides so the apex is uneven. It is at least honed evenly the full length of the knife. I'm sure this will be easy to correct the first time I sharpen it. The main issue for me personally is that it is not suited well to my large hands. The handle is rather short, and the depth of the blade is such that my index finger extends past the edge of the blade when holding it comfortably. I am keeping it for small, quick daily tasks but probably won't use it for major prep. I'm sure it will fit the hands of my wife and daughter better as well. All in all a reasonably good deal for a very beautiful knife.
