Eureka Mignon Zero 55s Single-Dose Grinder

Probably good for the price, but there are flaws.

I’ve just started using it, so I’ll just focus on design/build quality. Seems sturdy, but a few flaws: - The hole for the sliding plastic shutoff gate lets a lot of air through when you use the bellows. This means you spray coffee dust everywhere when you use the bellows. Did they not test this when they designed it…? Anyway, I’ve removed the gate and covered the hole with black tape. - The plastic body is warped/bent at one back corner, as though it doesn’t quite fit well on the machine chassis without forcing it. Very minor thing I’ve noticed, though. Just makes me wonder about the overall care put into design and manufacture.

You need to really push the bellows hard about 10 times

You need to pump the bellows really hard like 10 times to get out the leftover grounds. I think it is because a lot of air escapes from the little slide piece at the base of the hopper. I took out the plastic slide piece (you don't really need it) and put some black tape over the hole to block it. That seems to have helped force the air down through the grinder so it doesn't escape. Overall, it grinds great, but it seems like a pretty big design flow for this price of grinder.

Great upgrade from Baratza Encore ESP

Grinder works great. Less fines, more consistent grind, and almost no carry over. Also just a pleasure to operate. This was a big upgrade from the Baratza Encore ESP
