Amazing ultra lite

My Durston X-Mid Pro 1 is my 3rd ultra lite tent in the past 10 years and it is without doubt the best one. I cannot believe the amount interior space, width and height, together with 2 large vestibules. The trapezoid like shape is unique and so easy to set up. And the fact that this is a Canadian product makes it that much better. Customer service is above and beyond. I cannot recommend Durston enough.

A one-pound weight covers over the odd shortcoming.

Yes, this is a single-wall tent. Yes, condensation can be annoying. Yes, DCF can be loud in the wind. And no, it's not perfect. But the fact that my single largest gripe is the magnetic toggles sometimes pinching a little bit of the mesh inner to the fly should indicate just how freaking good this tent is. I am 6'2 and sleep comfortably with room for spare clothes near my feet. It's easy to make the pitch bombproof above treeline, and if you're below treeline then you don't need a great pitch regardless, because you're shielded from the wind. Pitching with both vestibules collapsed makes this thing fit just about anywhere you could slip a bivy bag into. I should mention that this is not quite a one-pound tent if you actually want a versatile setup. Between the eight stakes, guylines, tent, and bags, my setup comes in at 640 grams. That is still phenomenal, to be clear - but it's not truly one pound. One last thing that is not advertised enough about this tent is the headroom. Traditionally, I cannot kneel or in many cases even sit upright in a backpacking tent. The Pro 1 has a ridiculous amount of headroom; I had no idea what I was missing out on until I tried it. Hanging out in this tent is far more comfortable than any of my freestanding shelters thanks to that amazing headroom.
