FLEXTAIL ZERO LANTERN review – a handy little light for wild camping

I’ve been taking the ZERO LANTERN on my wild camps, and its size is the first thing I like about it. At just 56g, it’s easy to slip into my pack. The warm lantern light is useful inside the tent when I’m sorting my kit or settling down for the night, and switching to the flashlight gives me a more focused beam when I need to step outside. It charges by USB-C and has a lock switch, which is a sensible touch for something carried in a packed rucksack. FLEXTAIL rates it at up to 300 lumens and up to 35 hours of use, though I’d treat that runtime as a best-case figure on a low setting. For me, it earns its place as a compact camp light. I’d still take my head torch for walking and hands-free jobs, but the ZERO LANTERN is a useful bit of kit for those hours spent in and around the tent.

Super tiny, but really bright, ideal for campervan and keeping in a toilet tent! Use as a spotlight when walking across pitch black campgrounds, woods or wherever you may find yourself. It works so well as a lantern when sitting outside, my only criticism, is the button isn’t always easy to find when turning on and off, but the twist ring for brightness is a great idea!
