I was curious to try Red Boat’s Sweet and Savoury Simmer Sauce because I already trust the quality of their products. It turned out to be one of those sauces that makes dinner feel effortless but still full of flavour. Right away, you get a nice balance. There is a gentle sweetness up front, followed by a rich savoury depth that keeps it from feeling sugary. It tastes rounded and well developed, not one note or overly salty. What I appreciate most is how adaptable it is. It works beautifully as a glaze for chicken or pork, tossed with vegetables, or simmered with meat for a quick weeknight dish that feels thought through. The flavour clings nicely and builds as it cooks. It is convenient without tasting processed. You can tell care went into the recipe. Having something like this on hand makes it easy to put together a meal that feels complete without a lot of extra work.

I mixed it with chunks of chicken, tons of spinach and a bit of rice. It was so good with just the right amount of spicy-- and still good left over the next day. I'll keep jars on hand from now on.
