Senzo Black Damascus 8" Chef's Knife

Beautiful Knife.

Knife is gorgeous. Comes very sharp out of the box, but hitting on the stone quickly made it a razor. Its a perfect set for the house. Just too pretty to use in a work application.

3rd knife in this line. Very sharp, perfectly balanced, super light & absolutely gorgeous

Maybe my expectations were too high

Received about a week ago and have used it twice. Just starting to dip my toes into Japanese knives, so I'm no expert. It's a beautiful knife, but it's certainly not as sharp as some lower priced knives I've previously purchased. Also, there appears to be a circular plastic piece where the blade meets the handle that makes it feel a little cheap. Maybe my expectations were a bit too high.
