I got both the 5 qt Dutch Oven and the 8" Frying Pan. I've used the Dutch Oven stove top a couple times, and to bake bread several times. I love it for baking bread. With lid on, the steam it develops and contains really makes the bread pop. I've used the little 8" frying pan several dozen times to make breakfast eggs to order, and I love it. The tall sides contain splatter, the cast iron distributes heat evenly, a little bacon grease prevents stickin, and it cleans up in a jiffy. With the spring-steel handle, I can pick up both pans without gloves. I got both these pans for triple purpose. First, use at home. Second, use over a camp fire or camp stove. Third, to take on road trips when we often stop to see friends and cook for them. I really life having my own pots that I know and trust to make magic of exotic dishes like paella and tagine.
