Matte Metal Matcha Sifter Canister

This is a fantastic canister for powdered tea, and the included sifter is very helpful. It does take longer to sift this way rather than in a deeper sifter with stones or washers to agitate the powder, but it is relaxing to use the instrument to sift the powder, sort of like sifting sand at the beach. I use it for my hojicha!

I recently went to Japan and bought matcha in Kyoto and a bamboo whisk and realized upon my return that I forgot to purchase a matcha bowl to complete my individually sourced set. I found this website searching to support unique Japanese ceramic artists.. I loved that these are made by local regional artists and not mass produced. Packaging was thorough and well protected. I purchased a Mt. Fuji matcha bowl and a sifting canister. I have not used them yet, looking forward to trying my match with these utensils! Also, I loved the miniature paper crane packed inside, a small thoughtful addition that made the purchase feel more unique and authentic.
